Earlier this month, Labour leadership, Campaign Associates, CLC Labour Participation Department staff and community leaders came together at the Labour Campaign Breakfast to kick off the 2014 United Way campaign in unionized workplaces. Guests were inspired to raise support for United Way by Terri Van Steinburg, President of Kwantlen Faculty Association (FPSE Local 5). The event also welcomed and introduced nine Labour Campaign Associates, who will help build on the strength of the Labour and United Way. They are part of a team of 40 Campaign Associates that are working with United Way this fall. Here in the Lower Mainland, United Way and Labour have worked together to change lives for the better for more than 30 years. With the incredible support from individual donors, many members of local unions, United Way British Columbia touched the lives of 400,000 people last year.
