CLC logo United Way Worldwide’s annual Community Leaders Conference is coming to Vancouver, May 9-12. The Community Leaders Conference is United Way’s premier leadership event and brings together corporate, government and nonprofit sector leaders with United Way community leaders from Mumbai to Memphis and everywhere in between. Conference attendees share opportunities and promising practices that inspire and move United Way’s work forward. “This is United Way Worldwide’s first Community Leaders Conference ever held outside the US,” says Michael McKnight, President & CEO, United Way British Columbia. “We are very proud to welcome conference delegates to our beautiful region and city.” The conference takes place at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Delegates will kick off the week by attending a Host City Reception the evening of May 9 at the Vancouver Aquarium. The Host City Reception is proudly presented by United Steelworkers. “The United Steelworkers is proud to support this amazing United Way initiative that will foster discussion and dialogue between diverse community leaders with an agenda of community change and advancement,” says Steve Hunt, Director, District 3, United Steelworkers.  “As a global union striving for social justice, we understand the value and need of such an exchange of ideas and initiatives.” Steve Hunt currently serves as a Board Member on the Board of Directors of United Way British Columbia and is a former Chair of the Board.
