There is something exciting about the start of a new year. It’s a chance to begin fresh, an opportunity to commence anew.
And what better way to embrace the start of 2018, than by bringing kindness to the people you love and the community you call home?
At United Way, we’re excited about the different ways we can show our kindness – whether it be holding a door for someone, or calling up a much-missed friend. We love where we live, and we’re honoured to work with the people who make our communities whole.
We want you to join us! It’s very simple: over the holidays, and into the new year, take some time to greet someone you don’t know, let someone merge in front of you, or change the toilet roll when you see that it’s getting low (and especially if it’s empty!)
Here are some ideas on how to be kind to one another. A smile or a kind word can make someone’s day.
These little acts of kindness often mean much more that we know. They can change the trajectory of a person’s day. They can inspire others to reach out and be kind to someone else.
Kindness, when given, is a positive feedback loop.
From all of us at United Way British Columbia, we wish you a holiday season and New Year filled with kindness and love!
