The right connection changes everything

United Way is thrilled to have Scotiabank returning as title sponsor of this year’s Spirit Awards event taking place on Wednesday, February 28th. Seventeen years ago, Scotiabank first signed on as the title sponsor for the annual Scotiabank and United Way Community Spirit Awards. Their continued support has allowed us to celebrate the efforts of thousands of workplace and community champions from across the Lower Mainland.

Scotiabank and its employees are also key fundraising partners of United Way, pledging and raising thousands of dollars every year to support programs and services that ensure young people across our communities have the opportunity to grow up great.

This includes 9-year-old Lucca. Just like his mom, Miriam, a single mother, he loves soccer. He is also passionate about poetry. Thanks to Scotiabank’s support, he is able to participate in a unique United Way School’s Out program funded in Burnaby.

“At Scotiabank, our goal is to help create a better life for people in the communities we serve,” says Lesly Tayles, Senior Vice-President, B.C. & Yukon Region with Scotiabank. “In particular, we are committed to investing in young people in our community to help them reach their infinite potential.”

We invite you to come celebrate with us at the 2018 Scotiabank and United Way Community Spirit Awards to learn more about the great work Scotiabank & UWBC is doing to help young people in the community.
