Take off eh! Over $34,000 raised at Plane Pull
A UPS team pulls together for United Way.
The 4th annual UPS Plane Pull for United Way raised over $34,000 for people in need across the community. Twenty-four teams competed on near record-breaking temperatures at UPS’s tarmac at YVR on June 25. It was a free family-friendly event with a plane pull for kids, carnival games and a show and shine. And Seymour the Sea Otter! “This event really is about pulling together for community,” said Michael McKnight, President & CEO, United Way British Columbia. “UPS is an amazing community partner and we’re grateful for their generosity over the years. UPS across Canada has raised more than $15 million for United Way over the past 30 years.” Although everybody was a winner for participating, here are the 2017 UPS Plane Pull for United Way winning teams.
- Fastest plane pull: TD Canada Trust Pacific GenNext Committee at 17.21 seconds
- Second fastest: UPS Gateway, 18.26 seconds
- Third fastest: Destination Canada, 18.51 seconds
- Best dressed: Team Aimia for the second year in a row
- Top fundraising team: BMO Business Banking 2017
- Top individual fundraiser: Shirley Quinn, Team Aimia
