Cool people, warm hearts

On July 20, 100 of the coolest people with the warmest hearts gathered on the spectacular TELUS garden rooftop for Impact Red. This is the second annual Impact Red: Rooftop Social presented by TD Bank Group and hosted by United Way British Columbia’s GenNext Cabinet. The GenNext Cabinet harnesses the vision, energy and generosity of GenXers and millennials in support of United Way. Guests heard from Amanda who talked about how she found a home away from home at a United Way funded after-school program. Amanda talked about how the right connection can change everything for the better. Over $26,000 was raised at the event. All funds raised will support kids in United Way funded after-school programs. The amount raised will help 667 kids access after-school programming. Last year, United Way funding enabled 40,000 kids to take advantage of 2,000 local after-school programs. These kinds of after-school programs keep kids safe, find great role models, and help them grow up great so that they can become the next generation of cool people with warm hearts. Special thanks to TD Bank Group for presenting this year’s Impact Red: Rooftop Social and the United Way British Columbia GenNext program as a whole. “We are proud to support the amazing work that United Way does in the community. And we see the dedication, motivation and innovation of our young professionals. These individuals are the voice of today and the leaders of tomorrow and that’s why TD Bank Group is so proud to support United Way’s GenNext program and this event,” said Mauro Manzi, Senior Vice President, TD Bank Group, and Board member of United Way British Columbia’s Board of Directors. United Way British Columbia thanks all the event sponsors, volunteers, our GenNext Cabinet and most importantly, our guests, for making the second annual #ImpactRed event an evening to remember.
